Equipping students at Oak Grove to...

Know Jesus and Make Jesus Known

Our student ministry exists to glorify God by making mature disciples of Jesus Christ among students in Grades 6–12.
We believe that the primary aim of all ministry—including student ministry—is to exalt Christ, proclaim His gospel, and build up the church through faithful teaching, meaningful relationships, and intentional discipleship.

Our volunteers are carefully screened, thoroughly trained, and deeply committed to shepherding students with wisdom and care. They serve not for recognition, but because Christ is worthy—and because the next generation needs the truth.

In partnership with parents, we labor to cultivate in students a robust and enduring faith, grounded in Scripture and centered on Christ. Our prayer is to see students grow in:

  • Reverent Worship – treasuring God above all else

  • Biblical Community – growing together in grace and truth

  • Joyful Service – using their gifts to build up the body of Christ

  • Intentional Discipleship – multiplying mature believers who follow Christ wholeheartedly

Parents, you are always invited to visit our youth room downstairs in Room 105-107 during any of our ministry programs to meet our youth ministry director, volunteer leaders, and, of course, to see the engaging, affirming, fun and biblical discipleship your students will be receiving at OGBC.

O.G. YOUTH GROUP MEETING TIMES

O.G. Youth Group provides weekly gatherings designed to foster both spiritual growth and genuine fellowship among students.
These gatherings create space for students to explore the truths

of Scripture, apply the gospel to their daily lives, and build

Christ-centered relationships with peers who are walking through

similar seasons of life.

Each student is cared for personally by faithful, godly adult leaders

who are committed to prayerfully investing in the next generation.

These leaders offer spiritual support, biblical counsel, and Christlike encouragement with the heart of a shepherd.

These regular meetings are where faith is tested, refined, and applied.

A placewhere students are challenged to see how the Word of God

speaks into the real-world struggles they face. Together, we seek to

answer life’s pressing questions through the lens of Scripture,

because following Jesus truly changes everything.

When does Oak Grove's Student Ministries Meet?

  • 9:15 AM, Sunday School

  • 6:00 PM, Wednesday Evenings

  • Youth Group Special Events (Monthly)

Summer Camp for Students

Each summer, we take students who have completed Grades 6–12 to a

Christ-centered youth camp—an unforgettable week marked by dynamic worship, gospel preaching, meaningful discipleship,

and life-giving fellowship.
These camps offer a blend of energetic recreation, creative Bible study,

and opportunities to connect with other students from Oak Grove and

like-minded churches across the nation. It’s a time for spiritual renewal, personal reflection, and growing deeper in one’s walk with Christ.

Over the years, we’ve partnered with trusted ministries such as FUGE Camps, Student Life, and most recently, Go Tell Ministries at Liberty University.

These camps consistently point students to the supremacy of Christ and the sufficiency of His Word.

Volunteer:

Are you an adult who feels called to invest in the next generation?
If you have a heart for discipleship, a love for teenagers, and a desire to see Christ formed in young lives, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider joining our student ministry team.

Our teens are energetic, thoughtful, and full of potential—and we need faithful adults who are willing to walk alongside them with truth, grace, and commitment.

The harvest is plentiful, and the laborers are few. Come be part of what God is doing in the lives of our students.

All student ministry volunteers must complete an interview, pass a criminal background check, and attend annual child protection training.
More importantly, we’re looking for leaders who love Christ, care deeply for students, and are ready to serve with humility, patience, and a steady sense of humor. Working with teenagers is a privilege—and we take it seriously, even if we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
