MISSIONS & OUTREACH
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
Based on this Bible verse, our strategy for missional outreach is divided into four distinct categories of geography ensuring that Oak Grove Baptist Church is making disciples and sharing the light & love of Jesus at home in our own communities and throughout the nations!

(JERUSALEM) If we are going to reach the world with the power of the Gospel, we must be unashamed (Romans 1:16) to reach our neighbors down the street or even right next door. That's why we are intentionally developing ministries to evangelize the community in which we live. Like many other churches, we regularly invest time visiting and serving shut-ins, nursing homes, and the infirmed. However, we also participate in several unique outreach opportunities right here in Central Virginia.

(JUDEA) As the light of Christ radiates from our location near the Southside of Richmond in Chesterfield County, our heartfelt desire is that we would continue to reach out to families throughout our Commonwealth. Individuals and families from across the globe have made Virginia their homes including people from countries that are closed to formal missionary endeavors. In partnership with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia (SBCV), we want to be about planting churches and supporting state-wide missions to evangelize and serve unreached and unengaged people living in our own backyards.

(SAMARIA) We have the unique privilege of living, working, and worshiping according to the liberties afforded us in the good ol' U.S. of A and we should never take for granted our religious freedoms or opportunities to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the United States. Neither should we forget to serve and minister to the needs of our national neighbors to the north and south. Below, you will find just a few of our regular efforts to serve North America and bring a message of hope to all those who despair in our region of the world.

(ENDS OF THE EARTH) From our little piece of Central Virginia to the farthest reaches of the globe, OGBC is committed to fulfilling our biblical mission to glorify God, love one another, make disciples, and serve the world around us! International mission trips, offerings, and special projects are just the beginning of how we seek to strengthen the church abroad, encourage persecuted believers around the world, and bring the Good News of Jesus to those who may never have heard His wonderful Name.
