Connect in Biblical Community with Us Here at OGBC
"For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ and individually members of one another."
So, here's the thing: whether you're six years old or ninety-six (and anywhere in between), life can be challenging. In whatever season of life you may find yourself today, the truth is that we need one another! Unfortunately, so often we try to hide those areas where we struggle most and go it alone. God has created us uniquely to serve and meet needs that otherwise might go neglected. Making disciples is messy work indeed...but that's mostly because, if we were honest, we'd admit that we're all a bit of a mess. Life IS hard...but it's also so much better together! That's why biblical community in groups is such an integral part of what makes Oak Grove Baptist Church a family.
SO, WHAT IS BIBLICAL COMMUNITY?
At OGBC, you will find that we are far from a perfect family, but we are all members of one body of Christ! A core tenet of our mission here is to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Fellowship, Bible studies, and discipleship happen best in groups. Biblical community is the place where we can grow most effectively to be more and more like Jesus everyday. And we can do so in the company of fellow-followers who will provide accountability (without judgment) and sincere encouragement! At Oak Grove, you may decide to become a part of a Sunday School Class, mid-week prayer & Bible study, Sunday Night discipleship classes for kids, ministry teams or other fellowship gatherings. Of course, you could also just join us for all these happenings! Check out the some of the details below on these opportunities to participate in biblical community:
(for all ages)
Every Sunday morning before our family worship service, Sunday school classes [for kids and adults alike] convene to study the Scriptures together. For now, OGBC is hosting online as well as in-person classes for adults, seniors, and students as well as those for our littlest members and guests. We have infant and toddler nurseries as well as a class for elementary aged students. Stay tuned for more details coming soon with new classes!
There are a variety of classes to check out and choose from. Simply contact our main office for more information.
(Age 3 - Grade 6)
Resuming on Sundays in 2021, we are thrilled to be re-starting GroveKidz clubs as part of our OGBC strategy for discipling the next generation of Jesus-followers. Each Sunday evening from 5:00-6:30 PM we will seek to engage boys and girls with the life-changing Word of God encouraging them to know, love and serve Jesus Christ. Club nights consist of a meal for every kid and leader, small group lessons using Word of Life curriculum, fun games, exciting worship, and even awards for completing daily devotions & memorizing Scripture.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT ADULT PRAYER & BIBLE STUDY
By the time Wednesday comes around in a grueling work week, many of us need the chance to recharge our spiritual batteries. Our hump day fellowship at Oak Grove Baptist Church may be just the ticket for you! We often begin with snacks and even a free 1st Wednesday fellowship meal (5:15 PM) for the whole family in the fellowship hall. At 6 PM, kids may attend Music and Missions (M&Ms) while students head to youth group. For the adults, our pastor will lead us in a time of prayer, Bible study, and discussion focused around the topic of prayer.
Ladies Night Out
Location: Oak Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (or via Zoom conference)
Seriously, who doesn't need a ladies night out every now and then?! So, kick up your heels, girls and head on over to Oak Grove for an incredible night of fun, food and fellowship each month. You'll never know quite what to expect but you won't be disappointed either. Moms, this is a great chance to bring along your teen daughters so you can laugh and learn together (and, of course, get a night off from the guys)
Senior Adult Luncheon
Location: Oak Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall
Held on the first Tuesday of each month from 10 AM - 12 PM
Throughout the year, our seniors at Oak Grove load up buses to visit historical sites, attend dramatic productions, go out to eat, and catch some breathtaking views of the great outdoors. But twice a month, they get together to hear a brief devotional from our pastors (as well as other guest speakers), share prayer and praise reports, worship with good, old fashioned songs of our faith, and, of course, share a meal. So, why don't you bring a covered-dish, side or dessert to share and join us - you'll be so glad you did!
